Lower School Teacher


Start Date: August 2018

Phoenix Country Day School is seeking a Lower School teacher, for the 2018-2019 school year. Our program philosophy is that we seek to care for the whole child with passion and joy.  Creating strong relationships with families is an integral component of the PCDS program, as we believe that active parent involvement is critical to a child’s success. 

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s Degree in Education, and possess a deep understanding of children’s developmental stages.  You would be joining a team that values collaboration and teamwork.  This team will be focused on co-creating curriculum that uses inquiry-based teaching strategies, with an emphasis on collaborative learning and active student engagement.  Strong verbal and written skills are mandatory.

Candidates for this position will have demonstrated the following characteristics: passion for education, flexibility, patience, respect for the child and family, creativity, compassion, authenticity in all relationships, love of learning, high energy, sense of humor, and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff.

Minimum qualifications/requirements:

  • BA in Education, Master’s preferred
