Arizona Tax Credit Scholarships

The state of Arizona leads the nation in using tax credit opportunities to enable families to offset the cost of private school education.  This allows families to choose the educational setting that best suits their child. The program allows Arizona taxpayers to contribute a portion of their Arizona tax liability to a School Tuition Organization (STO) and take a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their state income tax return.

Families are encouraged to apply to STOs for scholarships for their children either desiring to attend a private school for the first time or wishing to continue attending a private school.

There are three different tax credit programs applicable to PCDS, two funded by individuals and one funded by corporations. Each has its own state-mandated eligibility requirements and restrictions, described in detail at:

    • Individual Tax Credit Scholarships
    • Corporate Tax Credit Scholarships

On each of these pages, you will find links to the STOs from which PCDS students have received scholarships in the past. There are over 100 STOs that award scholarships to students across the state.  Feel free to research them, as there are more than we can list here.

For further information on the state laws governing these scholarships, please visit the Arizona Department of Revenue website’s pages on individual and corporate tax credit programs.
