Admissions Assessments & Visits
for students entering grades 6-12
The following provides additional details once you have submitted the application and scheduled the Academic Assessement and the Classroom Visit.
|Please download and fill out the Campus Visitor Medical Form and bring it with you on your child’s initial visit to campus. We will keep the form on file for your child’s subsequent visits.|
Please have your child report to the Dining Hall, west of Shepard Hall (our main administration building, at 3901 E. Stanford Dr, just west of 40th Street), by 8:20 a.m. on the date scheduled. We will begin promptly at 8:30. Parents are free to leave campus. The assessment ends between 11:15 and 11:30.
There will be four sections of the assessment:
- Reading Comprehension
- Math Computation (no calculators)
- Cognitive Abilities
- Writing Sample
We will provide everything your child will need. As all sections are timed, we ask that each student bring a paperback book to read in the event that they finish with a section early.
Classroom Visit (Shadow Day)
Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. Your student’s visit will begin and end in Shepard Hall (our main administration building). Parents are free to leave campus. The visit ends at 1:45 p.m.
With the exception of applicants to 9th grade, students will visit in their current grade. Applicants to 9th grade will visit Upper School classrooms.
Students should come dressed for a normal school day. Students entering grades 6-8 should wear shoes appropriate for participation in P.E.
Student visitors do not need to bring anything from home. All day visitors will be our guests for lunch. Please let us know if your child has any special dietary restrictions.
