General Instructions:
--- Read the articles attached to this instruction sheet or handed out in class. Answer the summary questions about the articles that you have read.
--- When you have read the articles join with other students in your lab team to discuss the article.
--- Discuss your thoughts about the issues raised in the articles, use the provided questions to probe your thoughts to higher levels of understanding. Make sure you understand the causes and effects of the pollution type discussed in the article. Use resources such as earth explorer, the internet and NIH image to learn more about your topic.
--- Decide as a group what you think should be done about the issue. Answer these threee simple questions:
---Prepare your thoughts for a presentation to the class as a whole, choose a reporter, a debater and secretary for the group. Write your preliminary draft of your paper.
---- Listen to each groups presentation. Decide on questions you
would like to ask the other groups or reasons why you think their
theoretical solution has flaws or is unreasonable. Prepare to
debate.
---- After the conclusion of the class debate rewrite your postion
paper and add a summary paper. Summarize your position, your
arguments and your conclusions following the discusssion of the
topic. Where did you stand on the topic and where do you stand now.
Quality papers will be posted here. Papers should be 1-2 pages in
length.
