He / She will have a cell phone, please call if you are going to be late.
The number to call is 602-448 -0309 this will reach Mrs. Youngman at the airport.

Our Southwest Flight #1291 departs at 6:00 am
We are on a tight schedule, students who miss the plane will be left in Phoenix.

Please follow the packing list carefully. Do pack a small breakfast snack for the first day. Please do not allow your child to bring gum, candy, electronics, or cell phones or just too much stuff. They will be carrying their own bags during all transfers. Heavy bags are not fun.

Include all medication and medical instructions in the carry-on knapsack, advisors will collect this from the students while we are waiting at the gate. Remember to check that your student's carry-on bag will meet the new security restrictions.

Pack a jacket in the knapsack, it can be cold (50¾F and Windy) on the boat to Catalina.

Also: include a QUALITY water bottle. We will be hiking while at CELP.
Students should bring a small (no more than 30-60 dollars) amount of money for snacks and souvenirs at the camp store and for dinner at LA on the trip home.

Friday, October 17th - return

Return to Phoenix
Depart camp at 12:30 pm.
Catalina Express Boat returns to San Pedro

Depart LAX for Phoenix on
Southwest flight #838 departs 5:50
arrive Phoenix 7:10 pm

Please meet us at the security checkpoint, just beyond the gate and check out with your child's adviser before going home. Again, please call if you are delayed. Students may only leave with other students if we have written instructions from you that this is your wish. Please help us with this confusing scene in the airport, by being prompt and following these instructions.

We are looking forward to an exciting and educational travel adventure. If you have any questions or concerns please stop by room 236 before or after school or call Betsy Youngman at 602-955-8200 ext. 2207 or Sheila Marks x2307.

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to travel with your young person,

Sincerely,
the 8th grade advisors
