Overview:

In this lab students will be asked to examine how we perceive color. Through the analysis of a secret message they will better grasp how a filter works. Following this introduction they will be asked to create a secret message of their own, demonstrating that they grasp the concepts of adding and subtracting color from images by using filters.

In the second half of the lab, students will examine lights using diffraction gratings. As they do this they should be able to see the spectrum of colors and to predict the results of the action of a prism.
