1. The society in which Jody lived had many rules and taboos. Make a list of these rules and taboos. Then write how you would have reacted to them had you lived in their world.

2. Jody knew he would never see the guardian or Olwen again. Imagine that somehow he was able to send them a letter. Write the letter as Jody to express your understandings and feeling at the end of the story.

3. What do you think Jody is going to say to the people of the valley when he sees them? Write a speech that he might make to explain everything that happened.

4. List the techniques used to reroute the water by the Guardian and Jody. Compare these techniques with dam technology from today. Make a chart and some visual representation to accompany your list.
