Some tips and ideas for your model
element project

The Element Project requires the construction of a mobile or model for your project. Here are some tips and ideas for this year's project.

1. Keep your project small, remember what I said about the size of the room and the saving of materials and the earth, small is beautiful. This year it must be able to hang from the top of your shoebox !

2. Use materials that can be recycled or that you are recycling, such as lids if containers ,beads, old CD's... Be imaginative.

3. Use natural or edible materials, such as raisins or dried pasta. Just make sure that they will not melt or attract pests. NO CANDY!

4. Materials from past projects may be recycled, but not a whole project... see classroom tables for available materials and projects.

5. Look carefully at the projects in the room. I have saved elegant examples that are small. Use them for ideas. You can scale down many of the ideas in the room.

6. Don't be afraid to be unique, every year someone does someting completely unexpected!

7. Sources for materials used in the past: Michael's, Old America Craft store, closets and cabinets in your home, Art supply stores for clay, Toy stores for balls, marbles or hacky sax. Beads from bead stores.
