1. Write a one page summary of the Book.

3. Create a timeline depicting important inventions discussed in the book and the dates that they were invented.

4. Will you look at bridges the same way you did before why or why not?

5. What does the expression industrial archaeology mean to you?

6. Write a diary entry for each day in the week long journey on the canal from Harrisburg Pennsylvania to Ohio and Indiana. What would you have seen that was new or exciting?

7. Create a scale model of one of the inventions described in this book. Accompany it with a 4x6 index card describing the model and it's importance to society. this will count as a separate (portfoilo)
