Setting foot on the Phoenix Country Day School campus for the first time, one cannot help but notice the beauty of the well-manicured grounds against the breathtaking backdrop of the Praying Monk and Camelback Mountain.

In the fall of 1960, Mae Sue Talley, a transplant to Arizona from Connecticut with a pioneering spirit, was told by the principal of their local public school that her children were at least a year ahead of their classmates, though they had been in session only a week. After briefly considering sending them back east to school, Mae Sue, who had long-since fallen in love with the magic of the desert, decided on another course of action: Along with other determined and forward-thinking citizens, she established in Phoenix a quality independent school of their own.

More than a half-century later, Phoenix Country Day School has evolved into a distinct model of educational excellence, reflecting the unique culture of the region. Our students, under the guidance of an expert faculty and staff, compare to the best and brightest from any independent school in the country. And our alumni are making a difference—and making us proud—all over the world.

Mr. Felli is the father of 2 PCDS graduates and 1 current student. 

Mr. Felli states, "I have always been impressed with the high caliber of young humans that PCDS continues to mold and develop through its focus on intellectual engagement, independence, collaboration, creativity and integrity.  This has been consistently achieved over the years through a combination of great leadership, knowledgeable and passionate professionals in the field of education, and a focus on excellence.  From this solid foundation, I look forward to working with the Head of School to take that spirit of excellence to further elevate the school and meet the new challenges of a fast transforming world in our quest to be a preeminent leader in PK to 12 education in the US."
