This course is designed to give students a solid foundation in dance vocabulary and movement that will improve their strength, balance, flexibility, rhythm and creative thinking skills. Students will participate in warm ups, barre work and learn dance combos from a variety of styles including hip hop, ballet, jazz, musical theater and more. Grounded in ballet technique, this class is designed to inform and broaden students' dance abilities. The philosophy behind this course is that dance is simply loving music with your whole body. We’ll learn how to ask our imagination what could be and create it using discipline. This course will conclude with a dance showcase to celebrate our progress. Prior dance experience is not required for this class.
