Certified Sommelier Elizabeth Smith '04 will guide us through a primer on wine tasting technique, in which we'll learn how to approach a wine, assess its characteristics and quality level, and understand how these aspects inform food pairing. We'll discuss what makes a wine taste the way it does, as well as the deceptively simple question of what makes a wine good. We will taste 3 different wines together, and cheese pairings are suggested for those who would like to explore pairing principles in action. There is no cost to attend this virtual event, but you will need to provide your own wine! For 21+ alumni only.
