Credit Courses (9-12)

Class-by-class registration is available for students in grades 9-12. Each 2-week, non-credit class is $140. Half-credit courses are $700.

Sculpture I: Basic Techniques

Sculpture I introduces the students to the fundamentals of 3-dimensional art. Students learn the basics of wood and metal construction, cold connections, hand building, mold making, composition in a 3-dimensional space, color, and content. This is an excellent art class for those pursuing engineering and those interested in applied physics and chemistry.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a working knowledge of basic woodworking and metalworking tools
  • Experience the fundamentals of planning and building large and small scale objects
  • Hand sculpting
  • Silicone mold making
  • An introduction to metalworking

Introduction to Digital Media

Introduction to Digital Media is a class designed to give students exposure to many aspects of digital media classes that are offered at PCDS. These include design, photography, video, sound editing and coding.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain exposure to a wide variety of digital programs
  • Learn fundamentals of design and composition
  • Learn to use a DSLR camera
  • Gain a fundamental understanding of video and sound editing
  • Be introduced to coding as a platform for creating
