Summer Programs 2026
Student Eligibility & Expectations

The guidelines below outline student eligibility and expectations to ensure every participant enjoys a safe and positive camp experience. Please review this information carefully before registering for PCDS Summer Programs, and review the Camper Expectations with your child.
If you have questions about the program, campus, or whether it’s the right fit for your child, our team is happy to assist.

Student Eligibility

PCDS Summer Programs is open to campers who:

  • Are at least 5 years old by the first day of the program
  • Are entering grades Kindergarten through 9th

To support a safe and respectful environment, all students must:

  • Use respectful and appropriate language and behavior
  • Avoid physical behaviors that may cause harm (e.g., hitting, biting, scratching, pushing, throwing objects, self-harm)
  • Stay with their assigned groups in designated campus spaces
  • Listen to and follow staff instructions at all times
  • Participate in activities with a positive attitude
  • Be able to navigate indoor and outdoor areas across our 40-acre campus (including walking between buildings, playgrounds, athletic fields, and other program areas)

Potty-Training Requirement

All students must be fully potty-trained. Children must be able to:

  • Recognize when they need to use the bathroom
  • Communicate their need verbally or through nonverbal signals
  • Use the toilet independently (flush, wash, and dry hands)
  • Remain accident-free while on campus and wear underwear only (no training pants or disposable pull-ups)

We understand that occasional accidents may occur; however, consistent toileting independence is required for participation.

Camper Expectations

To support a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, campers are expected to:

  • Have fun!
  • Show respect for themselves, fellow students, staff, and campus facilities
  • Stay with their assigned group
  • Follow staff instructions at all times
  • Leave all electronics at home (including cell phones and smart watches)
  • Leave trading cards and collectibles at home
  • Bring a labeled water bottle
  • Do not bring nuts to campus and avoid sharing/trading food
  • Be kind to others
  • Try their best and participate positively in activities

Support & Program Fit

Our staff provides redirection, guidance, and encouragement to help campers meet program expectations. We work with each student and family to support a successful experience. However, if a student is consistently unable to meet eligibility and/or behavioral expectations, one of the following may occur:

  • Early dismissal for the day
  • A “reset day” at home
  • Ending their session early

Student Supports

Occasionally, a student may require support that exceeds what our program can typically offer. PCDS Summer Programs is not a therapeutic camp and cannot provide one-to-one support, but we strive to make reasonable accommodations for students who may require extra assistance. We are committed to working closely with caregivers to evaluate the suitability of the program for your child and determine what adjustments can be made to support a positive experience. Each situation is handled individually.

If your child may require additional support, we kindly request that you provide any relevant information prior to enrollment to help ensure your student’s success. Please contact the Director of Summer Programs to discuss your child’s needs at summer@pcds.org
